About the Exhibition

The 2017 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition marks the culmination of a three-year degree program that emphasizes extensive creative exploration under the supervision of a faculty guidance committee. Focused study in an area of concentration, as well as coursework in art history and related fields, helps artists situate their work within the larger discourse that characterizes the practice of art and design today. The creative research of Ladan Bahmani, Elyse Gambino, Kristen Franyutti, Jordan Smith, and Chelsea Young, stands as evidence of their achievements and promise.

This year the annual Master of Fine Arts Prize was awarded to Kristen Franyutti by guest juror Janet Dees, Curator at the Mary & Leigh Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University.
