The Poetry Gallery: Daniel Borzutzky
Join Daniel Borzutzky, award-winning poet and faculty member at the University of Illinois Chicago, as he debuts an original performance piece in dialogue with We Are This Land: Meditations on the Great American Experiment. Borzutzky’s work moves across the hemisphere, connecting the histories of South and Central America to contemporary experiences in the United States. His vivid and surreal explorations of American life invite us to consider the histories and systems that shape our shared experience.

Presented by the RCAH Center for Poetry, The Poetry Gallery is a series bringing poetry into conversation with art and the American experience. This event is offered in connection with We Are This Land: Meditations on the Great American Experiment. On view Aug. 22, 2026–Mar. 14, 2027, We Are This Land brings together artists who invite us to reflect on our history, consider our present, and imagine brighter futures.
