Focus Tour: Dandies

One artwork. One guest. One theme. In February, we’ll look at the portrait of Ignacio Quiles by Hope Gangloff featured in the exhibition History Told Slant. Subcultural dress expert Theresa Winge from MSU’s Apparel and Textile Design program will join us for this unconventional tour exploring the past and present of dandy fashion around the globe. Registration for this free, online event is required. Register here.

This monthly tour series offers a close look at one work of art on view at the MSU Broad Art Museum. Join our Director of Education, Michelle Word, as she talks with an invited expert who will bring their unique perspectives and knowledge to the conversation, sharing relevant cultural, scientific, and historical context that brings into focus the artwork’s timely themes.

This event will take place on Facebook Live. History Told Slant: Seventy-seven Years of Collecting Art at MSU is on view Jan. 29–Aug. 7, 2022 at the MSU Broad.
