Botanical Threads: An Ethnobotanical Gallery Tour
What can art tell us about the relationship between plants and humans? Join Maeve Bassett, applied ethnobotanist and education director at the MSU Beal Botanical Garden, for an immersive tour exploring the botanical narratives within the fabrics and textiles of We Are This Land: Meditations on the Great American Experiment.
We’d love to see you at this event!
This tour is part of the ongoing Deep-Rooted collaboration with the MSU Beal Botanical Garden, where art and plants intertwine in a conversation about the extraordinary ways our natural world has influenced art and human societies throughout history.
This event is offered in connection with We Are This Land: Meditations on the Great American Experiment. On view Aug. 22, 2026–Mar. 14, 2027, We Are This Land brings together artists who invite us to reflect on our history, consider our present, and imagine brighter futures.
