ARTIST TALK: Studio Mela
How does food shape our cultural connections? Join artist and chef Carmel Bar and multidisciplinary designer Michal Evyatar as they introduce Studio Mela, their multi-sensory art and design studio based in Israel. Through food, design, and movement, Studio Mela encourages us to look beyond everyday interactions with food to explore deeper connections between culture, art, and pleasure. Registration for this free event is encouraged.
This event is related to themes presented in the exhibition Farmland. On view from Jan. 18–Jul. 27, 2025, Farmland: Food, Justice, and Sovereignty explores the crucial questions of food knowledge, security, and justice against the background of Michigan State University’s 170-year history in agricultural tradition. Want to see Farmland in person? Arrive early—galleries will close when the event begins.
