What are the ambiguous standards that organize our lives? The Ambiguous Standards Institute, an artist and research collective with work on view in the exhibition Farmland, discuss their investigations on objects and systems that shape our everyday lives—from eggs to kitchen utensils, and more. On view from Jan. 18–Jul. 27, 2025, Farmland: Food, Justice, and Sovereignty explores the crucial questions of food knowledge, security, and justice against the background of Michigan State University’s 170-year history in agricultural tradition.
