Gallery Educator for University and Adult Programs
Under the supervision of the Director of Education, the Gallery Educator for University and Adult Programs works in close collaboration with the MSU Broad education team to develop and implement museum touring programs and associated in-gallery activities. They contribute to the content, methodology, and overall vision for in-gallery teaching by developing/leading tours and overseeing the docent, gallery guide, and volunteer training programs. As a gallery educator, this position is responsible for assuring that all volunteers are up-to-date on the current standards in museum pedagogy for youth, adults, and special needs populations. The MSU Broad has several positions for MSU students. Gallery Guides help keep the museum operating on a day-to-day basis. As a Gallery Guide, you’ll receive behind-the-scenes training; guide our visitors through their experience; and represent the museum within our community. The MSU Broad Preparator Studio seeks an outstanding freshman or sophomore to assist with the production of exhibitions. The right candidate will be responsible, intelligent, creative, positive, and able to work up to 20 hours per week. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup is preferred.
