Broken Routes: Rust Belt Communities and the Automobile Panel Discussion
Since its inception, the Interstate Highway System—and the cars that journey across it—have connected and fragmented American neighborhoods in complicated ways. In this panel discussion, curators from across the region explore the social, political, and environmental impact of cars on our communities. Featuring Steven L. Bridges and Georgia Erger (MSU Broad), Nancy Barr (Detroit Institute of Arts), Robin Reisenfeld (Toledo Museum of Art), Greta McHaney-Trice (Pave the Way Project, Greater Lansing Historical Society), and Michael Rodriguez (MSU Libraries).
