MSU BROAD ART LAB

The MSU Broad Art Lab is a collaborative space where our diverse community of makers, innovators, and lifelong learners can connect with opportunities to create and experiment with art.

Focused on engagement and collaboration, the Art Lab provides an accessible gateway to contemporary art for new audiences, where creative inquiry and process are at the core of the exhibitions and programming.

The Art Lab will reopen Saturday, Sept. 26! Learn more about our new safety guidelines here.

The Art Lab also hosts a semi-annual Makers Market featuring local artists and food vendors held each October and April. Want to get involved or recommend a maker? Contact us at eebam@msu.edu.

Collaborate

Have an idea to bring communities together while we socially distance?

Teach an online class, host a dance party, livestream a performance or poetry reading—whatever your idea, we want to hear it! Submit your proposal for a virtual experience to the Community Open Call, an initiative that invites creative thinkers from the Mitten State to propose ideas that we will help bring to life. Let's work together to build connections and strengthen our community from our phone or computer!

Open Call applications are currently being accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. Have questions? Email us at opencall@msu.edu.

This initiative is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.

Host Your Event With the Art Lab!

When we’re not hosting our own experiments, the Art Lab is open to the community for your next professional workshop, brainstorming retreat, business meeting, or special event. Whether you use the studio for a private hands-on gathering or the Bailey room as your own blank canvas, let our experienced staff take the worry out of your event planning.  Contact Alysia LaBonte at (517) 884-4815 or labontea@msu.edu to discuss the possibilities.
