Broad Underground Film Series: Flicker Describing a Cone
The Orchard St. Pump House (368 Orchard St., East Lansing)
This month’s Broad Underground will juxtapose the hallucinatory rhythms in Tony Conrad’s The Flicker (1966) with an interactive, three dimensional light sculpture in Anthony McCall’s Line Describing a Cone (1973). You’ll never be able to look at film the same way again. This series is an ongoing collaboration between the Broad MSU, Film Studies program, and Department of English at MSU. This year’s partnering venues include The Robin Theatre in REO Town and (SCENE) Metrospace in East Lansing. Stay tuned for information on our season finale at Abrams Planetarium!

Broad Underground Film Series: Infrastructuralisms
(SCENE) Metrospace
"Infrastructuralisms" examines the poetics and politics of infrastructure across a range of experimental films and videos. Challenging the tendency of infrastructure to recede from view until its catastrophic failure, this event focuses on films that make visible the buried networks, systems, and substrates that make everyday life possible.
