Meet the artist at the opening reception of Field Station: Kathryn Andrews, featuring a conversation between Associate Curator Steven L. Bridges and Kathryn at 7pm. For Field Station: Kathryn Andrews, the artist presents new work that reflects upon the current social and political climate in the US. Andrews has conceived an installation specifically for the MSU Broad, taking into consideration the museum’s unique gallery spaces and the history of the institution. Of particular interest is the role the museum played as a site for the filming of the Hollywood movie Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). The use of the museum as a set offers the artist a point of departure for her own dramatic composition, with a nod to the political theater of our present moment.
