Join us in celebrating the opening of The Artist as Activist, the first major museum exhibition to bring together a comprehensive body of work by Tayeba Begum Lipi and Mahbubur Rahman!

Two of Bangladesh's foremost contemporary artists, Lipi and Rahman challenge viewers through their questioning of social values, expectations, and conventions that are part of their everyday lives in Bangladesh. As activists, their work seeks change through its shared appeal on both a universal and personal level.

CANCELLED—Tuesday, March 1, 7pm: Join Curator and Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs Caitlín Doherty in conversation with Rahman and Lipi as they discuss their individual practices and artistic interchange as husband and wife. This event has been cancelled due to weather. Please join us for the opening reception Saturday, March 5, 6–8pm.
