This inaugural presentation of Tidal Shift: Department of Art, Art History, and Design Faculty Triennial at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum showcases recent work by twenty-one Michigan State University studio art and design faculty members. Regularly exhibiting in venues all over the world, these artists and designers have garnered national and international recognition for their work. Collectively they have received support from the Fulbright Program, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Representing a broad range of media and a variety of approaches within contemporary art and design, the work of Thomas Berding, Adam W. Brown, Laura Cloud, Chris Corneal, d’Ann de Simone, Benjamin Duke, Teresa Dunn, James E. Fagan, Xia Gao, Peter Glendinning, Alisa Henriquez, Zach Kaiser, Paul Kotula, Joe Kuszai, James L. Lawton, Jae Won Lee, Kelly Salchow MacArthur, Robert A. McCann, Rebecca Tegtmeyer, Ben Van Dyke, and Blake Williams highlights the dedication to creative research that distinguishes MSU’s Department of Art, Art History, and Design.
Tidal Shift: Department of Art, Art History, and Design Faculty Triennial is organized by the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University and guest curated by Christina Chang, Curator of Engagement at the Minnesota Museum of American Art.
